FINANCIAL POLICIES

FORMS OF PAYMENT: The Alaska SPCA Clinic is part of a nonprofit organization.  We work to keep our rates low but our services are not free.  We require payment for services at the time they are rendered. We accept most major credit and debit cards, as well as cash. For people paying by credit or debit card, there is a 3% convenience fee charged. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS or Care Credit.

DEPOSITS FOR CLINIC SERVICES: We require deposits when appointments are made.  For a spay or neuter, the deposit required is the cost of the procedure. Deposits for surgeries and dental procedures are a $100 minimum.  For procedures, the veterinarian will give you an estimate of the cost prior to scheduling.  Plan your appointment so that you can pay that estimate. Deposits are not held for more than 90 days. If you do not request a refund of your deposit, it will be considered a donation. If you do not provide 24-hour notice of cancelation, your deposit will not be refunded.

BALANCE DUE AT DAY OF SERVICES: If there is a balance due at the time you come to pick your pet up from the clinic, your pet will not be returned to you until you have paid that balance.

CANCELATION POLICY: It happens to all of us--we forget that we've got something scheduled until the last minute or plans change.  If, for some reason, you cannot make your appointment, you must provide at least 24 hours' notice to avoid losing your deposit.  Please get in touch with us to reschedule; we do not want to keep your deposit on our books for any longer than necessary.   If you do not show up for your appointment, you will forfeit your entire deposit.

COUPONS: We accept coupons for limited services from limited providers. If you have a coupon from Friends of Pets or Save our Seward Pets, you must provide the coupon number when requesting your appointment, AND you must have your coupon in hand when you check your pet in for surgery.

ACCOUNTS WITH OPEN BALANCES: If your account has a balance due, you will not be allowed to receive any services from the Alaska SPCA until that balance has been paid.

PAYMENT PLANS:  Payment plans for clinic services are available through ScratchPay*. Get the care you need today, and pay for treatment costs overtime with a payment plan.Benefits of a payment plan include:

  • Split treatment costs into smaller monthly (or bi-weekly) payments
