SPAY OR NEUTERING--Spaying and neutering have always been an integral part of the Alaska SPCA mission. These procedures can help your pets lead longer, healthier and happier lives. Spaying and neutering are routine medical procedures that can help control pet overpopulation and prevent the development of medical and behavioral problems. In addition to our traditional spay/neuter program, we also offer spay/neuter PLUS, and senior spay/neuter procedures (required for dogs and cats over seven years of age).

EXAMS--Effective May 1, 2021 we are updating our approach to exam appointments. The change allows us to better plan staffing and keeps you from having to wait when an appointment runs over.  The CSR will determine what type of exam when the appointment is scheduled.
Diagnostic Exams: This exam is for sick pets, those needing pre-dentals, those requiring any kind of lab work or imaging.  Expect that those exams will last 45 minutes to allow adequate time for the necessary tests.  This type of exam costs $69 PLUS the cost of any tests or imaging.

DENTAL CARE--There is no such thing as a "one size fits all" dental procedure.  Our care begins with a pre-dental visit in which the vet will work with you to develop a treatment plan for your pet, and provide an estimate to help you budget for the procedure. A $100 deposit is required to schedule the dental work. The remaining balance is due when you pick up your pet.

VACCINATIONS--Vaccines are key to helping keep your pet healthy for a lifetime.  Vaccinations are available M-F.  You can sign up online using the Pet Portal.

MICROCHIPPING--If you pet gets lost make sure that you can be reunited! Microchipping is available only as a part of a procedure or by appointment with one of our vet techs.  You may use your own chip (service available only to rescue groups) otherwise chips are available for purchase. We recommend microchipping at the time of spay/neuter while the animal is under anesthesia.

PRESCRIPTION PET FOOD--We carry dog and cat prescription diets from both Hill's Science Diet and Royal Canin.
